Graphic Designer

At 3Q Digital, we work with high-powered clients in some of America’s best cities (San Francisco, San Diego, the Silicon Valley, downtown Chicago, Austin, New York and Burlington, Vermont). We’re smart, fast-paced and we value great client service.

The designer is responsible for helping to drive the creative direction and execution of client advertising campaigns. An understanding of the use of photography, typography, color, layout, video, animation and basic creative concept development, and social media creative formats & requirements will be needed to produce the best work possible.

Knowledge of the following tools is required:

  • Illustrator
  • Photoshop
  • InDesign
  • Knowledge of CSS (Bootstrap) 
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Design or Sketch a plus

Typical activities

The specific tasks for the junior designer will vary dependent on the need. Typical activities will include:

  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
  • Producing attractive and effective designs for all digital media
  • Creative concept development
  • Developing design comps and prepping files for production
  • Developing ad creative for social media
  • Providing production design assistance such as banner resizing or QA
  • Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback
  • Liaising effectively with clients and other team members
  • Supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects

Required skills & experience 

A  designer needs a wide range of design and creative capabilities. These include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adeptness with leading design software packages
  • A determination to achieve and succeed
  • 1-2 years creative industry experience (agency or in-house)
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
  • A basic understanding of working as part of a design team
  • The ability to see projects through from concept, design to production
  • Consistency of work regardless of project size
  • Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team
  • The motivation to maintain and improve design standards
  • Adeptness for learning new technologies, platforms, design tools, and processes
  • The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
  • Nice to have tools: Premiere or After Effects
