Associate Director, Paid Social Media (Chicago)

The Associate Director of Paid Social will serve as a strategic leader on Paid Social campaigns for 3Q clients and team members. This individual will be responsible for building, growing and mentoring a team of Account Managers and their support resources. Additionally, this person will serve as the senior-most point of escalation on the accounts that their team oversees. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in building scaled and successful evergreen Paid Social campaigns, on several high spending performance-oriented clients.

Essential Functions

  • Be an expert in all things Paid Social, including new and emerging ad platforms
  • Have a clear passion for Paid Social, and its role in the customer journey
  • Partner with client account leaders to ensure paid social media strategy, goals, and objectives are aligned, optimized, and integrated.
  • Develop/drive integrated process and strategic thinking across client accounts
  • Mentor and manage junior team members on overall paid social account management strategy, optimization, etc.
  • Ability to build a variety of paid social media campaigns from conception to creative to execution to analytics. While this is more of a strategic role, you must still be willing and able to get your hands dirty!
  • Work to adequately measure and optimize campaign performance while also establishing benchmarks and recommending improvements for future social media campaigns.
  • Develop social media strategies and marketing plans to support and achieve the client’s business objectives. Evangelize 3Q Paid Social differentiators, whitepapers, case studies, etc. to build upon agency thought leadership in the channel.
  • Able to manage any sized paid social engagement completely autonomously.
  • Able to convey complex subjects to clients in an understandable way; including powerful real-time dashboard reporting of KPIs.
  • Participate in speaking engagements and events on behalf of 3Q
  • Build account audits from scratch and can present them effectively to new potential clients. Must understand the importance of, and how to, build a book of business.
  • Capable of confidently representing the Paid Social channel and 3Q to any internal or external stakeholder
  • Consistently push the envelope for clients and team members through innovation

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of paid social media marketing experience (hands-on account management experience required).
  • Has managed many Facebook advertising accounts that spend a significant budget (at least $200k a month)
  • Expert knowledge of paid social media paid platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Twitter.
  • Passionate about pursuing new and emerging social ad platforms (Reddit, Quora, Nextdoor, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Native Advertising and platforms (Outbrain, Taboola, Gemini Native)
  • Some experience with Organic Social
  • Strong, professional and verbal communication skills. Should be more than comfortable with public speaking.
  • Excellent writing and strategic content creation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage other team members
  • Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects and ongoing work items; while effectively managing changing priorities and time management.
  • Agency experience, and comfortability working in a very fast-paced environment
  • Believer in “work/life integration” – this is not a 9 to 5 job by any means.
